Application to the AQM Program
Applicants to the program should apply to the Ph.D. program in one of the following two departments:
- UCLA Department of Education in the Graduate School of Education & Information Studies (Division of Social Research Methodology in the Department of Education--for the field of emphasis, select the Advanced Quantitative Methods option). First, read the checklist below before you apply.
- UCLA Department of Psychology (Quantitative Psychology)
Participating students receive a guaranteed stipend starting at $30,000/year for multiple years, plus coverage of tuition and fees, health insurance, travel funds to conferences, and support for research expenses.
To be considered for this PhD program, students should apply to the Social Research Methods in the Department of Education or the Quantitative Program in the Psychology Department.
Required application materials include transcripts, Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores, three letters of recommendation, and a Statement of Purpose.
Important: In the Statement of Purpose, indicate that you are interested in being a doctoral fellow in the program on Advanced Quantitative Methods in Education Research.
The program is open to students with undergraduate or masters-level degrees. To receive a fellowship stipend, students must be citizens or permanent residents of the United States.
The deadline for applications for Fall 2010 is December 1, 2009.
It is highly advisable to take the GRE by 11/15/09 to avoid delay in reviewing your application.
